lady of the reef

one of the icons on Napier,s marine parade is Pania of the reef. She has an amazing legend that has been retold through the generations. This is a layout I did of the statue using the sketch from  http://sketchabilities
This, as always is a great sketch. I love the way I get to use multi photos which helps to get through my never ending stash.
any way that is the end of my scrapping for the weekend thanks for looking and also for leaving lovely comments in the past it helps me to know that other people have seen my blog.

A touch of paradice

Hamilton gardens are always a favourite spot for us to visit and take photos of. These are photos that I thought I would never be able to use and the paper must be one of the oldest in my collection so it feels really good to have this page done and the fact that I think it looks great is a benefit as well. the sketch is from http://www.letsgetsketchy. Which is a webby that I have just recently discovered. Thanks for looking hope you have a great weekend

I do make cards too

I do try to make a card each weekend but I tend to only post challenge items on this blog although I am not quite sure why You might just  see more of my card creations on here. Anyway the challenge over at http://southerngirlschallenge was to show some folds I could have added this to a layout but the card I wanted to attempt this weekend filled this criteria so that is what I did.  hope it is clear enough to see. had fun making this card thanks for looking Kirsty

other two layouts

The first layout I tried to do was from a hexagon inspiration which seems to be a trend at the moment but I could not find a hexagon shape that I was happy with so I decided to do what scrappers do best and improvise. This is the final product.
The other layout that I created I found a sketch for while browsing the net. Love the fun image and the shaped paper and being able to use more than one photo is a bonus. What do you think.  anyway off on holiday on Thursday taking the girls to the Resse Maston concert and do some shopping and hopefully get some cool scrappin photos.

its the little things

this is for the challenge over at http://challengemehappy. this fortnight was an anything goes challenge so over the weekend I did a number of layouts and then chose my favourite. Am enjoying the long weekend and the cold weather is perfect for creating. here is the layout I have decided to submit
I am liking the green and orange combination and the sketch was quite a fun one to work with. let me know what you think Kirsty

next generation

final post and challenge for this weekend. I love http://sketchabilities because they always give multi photos sketches (or most of the time any way) and this helps me to get through my big pile of photos so that I can go and get some more printed and this week is no exception. Here is my example of their sketch
after saying a few weeks ago that yellow was not my go to colour I have been using it a bit on my layouts lately so go figure. I am looking forward to a long weekend next weekend being Easter and the opportunity to do lots more layouts. the week after that is another short week as the kids are going to Reese Maston  which means a family overnight in Wellington and the week after that is anzac on a Wednesday which will mean another short week lots more scrappin and lots more photos better look out... kirsty
