ten years on

A quick post today. this is a challenge for challengemehappy the challenge was to do a layout of yourself ten years ago. I had to do a family photo as chances are I am on the other end of the camera and dont have that many photos of me this is going to have to change. These are two christmas photos ten years apart we have decided nither James or I have aged that much and the girls have aged to much where did the years go. Anyway here is the layout
attempted the colourblocking technique wasn't sure if I liked it or not it was sure a time waster with alot of paper shuffling and in the end I just about had to close my eyes and say this is it no more procratinating just stick it down. Will have to try this technique again the experts make it look so co ordinated and creative. Anyway will post again next week

i'm stressed

but only because that is the challenge this week over at southerngirlschallenge. stressing is not my normal type of scrapbooking but a challenge is a challenge. Positive points about this layout is this photo must be one of the oldest in my photo tin and I had no idea of how to use it and now it is done. the stamp around the outside is one that I have never used before and the technique is one that I am not familiar with. so after all that I am pretty pleased with the outcome might try distressing again one day. Here is the layout

The next layout that I did, and I dont normally do two in a weekend was for the challenge over at sketchabilities this
and this is my take on it
the positives about ths layout apart from the fact is that it is the second for the weekend is that I used five photos which is a big challenge for me and took a small chunk out of the hundred or so that are in my box. Its quite hard for me to do christmas themed photos now the children are older so that was another positive. another challenge that I might do next weekend is me ten years ago which is pretty hard as I am normally the one behind the camera this may have to change.
Other happenings this week J. started her life in the workforce. H. still has a negative attitude. this week our roster has changed and so that means that I am not starting at eight anymore which means with a forty minute walk to work I dont have to leave the house at 7.20 instead I start at 8.30 and have to leave at 7.45 much better.

cards

I am hoping to join a design team this year and saw a design team call for 365 cards. One of the criteria was to show a sample of the cards that you have made. Because this blog is fairly new and all my post have been scrapping layouts I decided I would do a movie of a selection of some of my latest cards.
this is the first time I have uploaded a video to my blog so I am hoping all goes well although it is looking good from this end hopefully others will be able to see what I see. Now off to submit my design team application.

fairy in the garden

This is a layout for the southern girl challenge. Have thought about this concept since the beginning of the month and actually found a picture that I wasn't originally going to use but I am pleased that I did.
Can you see the fairy in the bottem right hand corner?  This is an old photo of Jess when she was a pippin many years ago before digital photos. While hunting for the perfect photos we had many laughs and memories while looking through older photos (good times). Had a great short week with Waitangi day on monday hard to believe that I had a three week holiday least than six weeks ago. Girls settling in to school and life is starting to get back to its normal routine (what ever that might be)

dont forget your roots

this week the scrapbook challenge for challenge me happy is to use
1 photo
2 peices of cardstock
3 journalling spot
4 words in your title
5 peices of pattered paper
and 6 butterflies
and this is what I have come up with
quite pleased with results. The hardest element I found was the patterned paper but I got there in the end. Also my last post for the white on white challenge won me a prize so I am pretty happy with that. School went back this week thank goodness. Jessica recieved an award for NCEA leavel one with a merit endorsement so I went to her assembly for that and the great scrapbooker that I am forgot the camera. She seems to be in good classes this year and seems quite positive. Hannah is exactly the oppisite causing her mum great stress. Anyway will update next week
